I was approaching a significant birthday and the gym was not 'doing it' for me. I needed a shove, to get past just turning up at the gym and going through the motions. I decided to consult Duncan with a view to getting fitter and getting brighter.

The first meeting we chatted about my hopes and goals for the course of training sessions. Duncan set out a plan of campaign and we discussed if this would suit me and refined details to suit what I wanted and what I needed.

We started by changing my routine at the gym, changing the machines used and the style of exercises using the machines. This brought a new interest in the gym, it became less of a toil to turn up. The weights have never been my favourite part of a workout, Duncan talked me through the benefits of using the weights and helped me understand the need to persevere and keep weights as part of my routine.

I have never been a Kate Moss more a Catherine Zeta Jones, ok more a potential Hattie Jacques (oh how that shows my age). Initially loss of weight was not one of my goals. As the course of lessons continued Duncan talk of nutrition and lifestyle outside the gym to keep the body healthy rely started to pay of. I have lost 7lbs not a huge amount but my body shape is better and I look better. I have achieved my goals of getting fitter and I feel brighter, less fed up, more positive.

I walked the Great Scottish Walk I was fifth lady home. I also did the full Moon walk 26.2 miles, I did this in 6hours 22minutes. Neither of which I could have done last year at this time.

At first glance I thought MBT’s seem to be unbelievable, but as soon as I tried on my first pair, I was shocked and amazed. Yes all the positive benefits of MBT’s you read and hear about are true.

I tried on my first pair of MBT’s out of curiosity as I had heard a lot about them. As soon as I put them on, I felt muscles working that obviously hadn’t been challenged before. Muscles I should have really worked, being a Physiotherapist. They felt like ‘dream shoes’, it’s hard to explain the sensation you feel, but its like drifting through clouds. I can truthfully say I have seen that each of these claims are realities.

MBT’s encourage you to adopt an upright posture and prevent slouching. I wear my MBT’s when I treat my patients as they prevent me from hunching over my treatment bed and gives a better impression to my patients of the ideal postural alignment.

MBT’s continually challenge your muscles, which helps to tone and shape the body. I mainly noticed that my gluteus muscles have become firmer and more defined.

Since wearing MBT’s I have been injury and pain free from any musculoskeletal problems. I put my body through an enormous amount of stresses and strains during my vigorous long distance runs and no matter how hard I push myself in my MBT’s I don’t develop any problems.

The mechanics of MBT’s reduce the stresses put on weight bearing joints; this is of huge benefit to anyone, especially for reducing degenerative changes in latter life.

I recommended MBT’s to one of my Physiotherapy patients, who decided to go to Duncan’s ‘Taster Session’. She was instantly amazed and bought a pair. The next time I treated this patient she reported feeling ‘much better’ and thought it was down to the combination of MBT’s, exercise and Physiotherapy. In the future I wouldn’t hesitate in referring patients to have a discussion about MBT’S with Duncan, as they can be very advantageous to so many people.

As a qualified Physiotherapist I used to pride myself on having good posture and being extremely fit. However, after wearing MBT’s I now feel I have improved these to aspects to a point I never thought achievable.
